Charges laid following domestic dispute in Wellington County

One suspect has been charged following a reported domestic dispute.

On February 15th, at approximately 7:40 a.m. members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a 911 call for a domestic dispute in progress at a residence on Egremont Street in Mount Forest.

It was reported that the suspect and female victim were previously in a relationship.

Police say the victim called after the suspect broke into her residence through a window causing property damage. The suspect was also bound by a court order with a condition not to have contact with the victim.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Southgate Township resident has been charged with Break and Enter, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at a later date at the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
