COVID-19 claims the life of another Wellington County resident

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported a new fatality from COVID-19 occurred in Wellington County over the weekend.

There have been 32 fatalities in Wellington. Nine new cases were added over the weekend in Wellington, where there are now 17 active cases. One person is in hospital.

The ongoing outbreak at Caressant Care long-term care in Arthur has contributed to 19 fatalities. 119 residents and staff were infected.  An outbreak at Caressant Care long-term care in Fergus has been contained to one staff illness.

Across the Wellington Dufferin Guelph region,  eleven new cases were added over the weekend. There are 137 active cases. Ten people are in hospital. 102 have passed away due to COVID-19. There are five active workplace outbreaks.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
