Owen Sound Police investigation leads to seizure of loaded gun

On Sunday, Owen Sound Police found a loaded, sawed-off firearm at a residence.

Police commenced an investigation regarding domestic threats, and mischief along with weapons offences. They said the investigation revealed that a local 21 year-old man had threatened a woman and destroyed some of her property. When they arrived at the home, they noticed a gun in plain sight. They discovered that not only was the gun loaded, it was also sawed off, making it a prohibited firearm.

The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, domestic mischief and a five additional charges relaing to the possession of the gun.

He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing on Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
