Seniors Grant Funding coming to Huron-Bruce

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson has announced that funding through the provincial Seniors Grant will be helping improve two local facilities.

In a recent release, Thompson says The Bluffs at Huron, a local adult living community, will receive $12,250 to go towards organizing more social activities for residents. That will include encouraging more social interactions like utilizing the local dog park, trail to the beach, a Canada Day celebration and other recreational activities. Also, the Saugeen Lawn Bowling Club is receiving $3,000 to help improve the facility.

MPP Thompson notes in the release that Ontario is investing over 4.5 million dollars across the province to help seniors be active and stay connected with their communities.

“At the best of times it’s important to keep our seniors active and healthy,” Thompson says. “But during the pandemic, we also want to keep them connected and interactive in safe ways.”
