ABCA elects Chair and Vice-Chair

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority held elections for positions on its board at their last meeting.

General Manager, Brian Horner says two members were re-elected.

“Our Chair, Doug Cook, was re-elected. Doug represents Lambton Shores and Warwick and our Vice-Chair was also re-elected, Dave Jewitt, who represents Central Huron, so we're happy with that. Great individuals.”

Horner also explained, some changes in the Conservation Authority Act, will impact future elections.

“Changes coming through the CA Act are actually going to limit those terms. They're asking for the chair and vice-chair to have a maximum term of two years and then they should be rotating. There are possible exemptions that can be asked for, but that's what is in there right now.”
