Port Elgin Pumpkinfest earns award recognition

Port Elgin's Pumpkinfest has been recognized by Festival and Events Ontario.

It earned an achievement award for the 2020 version, for adapting, pivoting and evolving through the pandemic.

Pumpkinfest's submission elaborated on several points that included staging the Bruce Power International Weigh Off as a webcast event, a drive-thru 'OPG Pumpkin Pack' where people could pick up interactive experiences to take home before the actual event and a virtual car show.

Coordinator Joanne Robbins says the Pumpkinfest team, friends and sponsors saw the value in moving forward through COVID-19.
