Charges laid after cyclist hit in South Bruce Peninsula

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a suspect in connection to a fail to remain collision between a car and a cyclist in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

On March 10, 2021 at 9:03 p.m., The cyclist was riding a bicycle on Rouse Road near Bruce Road when they were struck by a car. The car did not stop and offer assistance or wait for police to arrive at the scene. The car fled the area.

As a result an investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Rodney Wright, 53 years-of-age, from Wiarton, with fail to stop at accident causing bodily harm, section 320.16(2) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused must appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 15, 2021.
