Local residents competing in 2021 World Championship of Public Speaking

Two people from Grey-Bruce are currently competing in the 2021 World Championship of Public Speaking.

Lishui Springford from Durham and Jane Herron of Tara have already competed in and won two local rounds in the competition at local Toastmasters International Clubs. That has allowed them to move on to the District 86 Division T International Speech contest on March 26 at 6:30 p.m. If they win, they will move on to the regional semi-final round. Springford and Herron will be competing against six other speakers from the Waterloo and Wellington area in this latest round.

The winner from the latest round will go on to the District 86 Toastmasters Conference held on April 18 online, against speakers across most of Ontario. That is followed by the World Championships held during the annual Toastmasters International Convention, scheduled this year for August 23rd to the 28th.
