West Grey man sentenced after stabbing incident

A West Grey man has been sentenced, following a stabbing incident that took place in May of 2020.

36 year old Cory McCarthy was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and received a life time Weapons and Firearms Prohibition.

West Grey Police were called to an early morning disturbance on May 24, 2020 at a Durham address and found that an adult male victim had been stabbed in the chest.  Police say McCarthy was arrested later that day.

McCarthy pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault and Assault Police while the charge of Attempted Murder was withdrawn as part of a plea bargain.
