Police identify victim of a crash near Bayfield

Huron OPP identified a man killed in a two-vehicle collision north of Bayfield on Friday.

Police say Rodwyn Sykes, 91, of Goderich was driving a sedan northbound on Orchard Line when the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Cut Line Road around 2 p.m.

The sedan then entered the intersection and was hit by an eastbound minivan.

Sykes was rushed to hospital and then airlifted to a regional hospital but later died of his injuries.

The driver of the minivan was treated in hospital for minor injuries and later released.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
