Wellington Dufferin Guelph adds 297 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 297 new COVID-19 cases between April 1st and Tuesday. 37 of those new cases are in Wellington County, where there are 46 active cases.

There are five active cases in Wellington, two in Mapleton, and three in Minto

There is a facility wide outbreak at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care in Fergus, with five staff members testing positive. There is also an outbreak at Emmanuel Christian Private High school in Fergus.

Across the region there are seven workplace outbreaks, along with hospital outbreaks in Orangeville and Guelph, and two long term care outbreaks in Guelph. Five people are in hospital and two people are in the ICU.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
