Police lay charges after seizing prohibited weapons

Huron County OPP have a suspect in custody after seizing prohibited weapons after a recent incident in Seaforth.

On April 6th at 4:36 a.m., officers responded to a Main Street North residence in Seaforth to investigate a disturbance that was taking place. When police arrived they found a suspect that was wanted in relation to a prior assault investigation. Police arrested the alleged suspect and upon searching the suspect, found four prohibited weapons, including a push dagger knife, a flick knife, a mace and a steel pipe. Police laid charges of possession of prohibited weapons and fail to comply with probation order against the 36-year-old suspect who resides in Central Huron.

The accused remains in police custody with court appearance scheduled for April 9th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
