Township closes landfills as part of extra precautionary measures following local COVID-19 spike

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is taking extra precautions following a spike in COVID-19 cases in the area.

As part of those precautions, the Huron Landfill site will be closed on April 16th and 17th. The Township of Huron-Kinloss says in their release these precautions are being put in place "to help prevent and slow the spread of the COVID-19 in our community during the declared Critical Threshold of COVID-19 cases in Grey -Bruce." All Township of Huron-Kinloss Facilities will be closed to the public for the next 48 hours including the Municipal Office, the HUB, the Ripley Huron Community Centre, the Lucknow Arena, the Lucknow Townhall, and the Point Clark Community Centre.

All emergency services and essential services will continue in Huron-Kinloss during the shutdowns. For more information visit the municipal website for Huron-Kinloss.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
