Suspect facing multiple charges

A Brampton man is facing multiple charges after a run-in with Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, police arrested 40-year-old Nelson Toste of Brampton on Highway 10 near Berkeley. According to police, three OPP cruisers were damaged while stopping the suspect.

Toste is charged with multiple charges including three counts of robbery, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, four counts of dangerous driving, three counts of assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The suspect was also charged with theft over $5000 and theft of a motor vehicle. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact Grey-Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
