Health officials in Grey, Bruce following up on hundreds of high risk contacts

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.

Five are in Owen Sound; three in Saugeen Shores; two in Brockton; two in Meaford; two in The Blue Moutains; one in Northern Bruce Peninsula; one in South Bruce; and one in South Bruce Peninsula.

There are 12 active cases of variants of concern and two cases were removed from the official count because they were determined to be false positives.

Health unit officials are following up on 659 high-risk contacts. Three people are in hospital in Grey and Bruce with COVID-19 and one person is being treated in a hospital outside the area.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
