North Wellington Jobs and Housing Portal launches

North Wellington and the Town of Minto have combined resources into a new portal for local jobs and housing postings.

In a release on April 21st, the Northern Wellington Economic Development Partnership (NWEDP) announced the new Northern Wellington Jobs and Housing Portal launch. For the past 5 years, the Town of Minto and Wellington North each had their own portals, but have now decided to combine their efforts into one resource following a rough 2020 where municipalities were looking for efficiencies during the pandemic. The new site will be a one-stop shop for job postings, as well as commercial and residential housing listings in Wellington North, Minto and Mapleton. There are mobile friendly options as well for using the site.

Local businesses, private property owners and realtors can now post job openings and listings on the site at http://www.nwjobsandhousing.ca.

“Despite the pandemic our employers continue to highlight the challenge of finding employees," says Business and Economic Manager Belinda Wick-Graham from the Town of Minto. "The portal provides a great resource for our employers to highlight their opportunities to a larger audience."

“The reality of doing business in a rural economy is that to fill job openings there must also be homes for sale or rental properties available to accommodate these new members of the community and their families," adds Economic Development Officer Dale Small from Wellington North. “This website makes what was previously a time-consuming search much easier. Using the website map and directions functions it becomes very easy to see where a job is and how close available accommodations are to that job."
