Crews quickly knock down barn fire near Palmerston

Fire crews from five different stations were called out to a barn fire near Palmerston on Saturday.

The entire Minto Department responded to the call just after 12:30 p.m. and included the stations from Harriston, Palmerston and Clifford. Firefighters from Mapleton and North Perth were also called in.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the interior of the barn.

The fire was on Wellington County Road 123 between 3rd Line and Line 92.

According to an email from the Minto Fire Department, the barn was used for storage that included a couple of old cars. No one was in the building at the time and there were no injuries.

The cause and cost of damage have yet to be determined.
