Police seeking driver of stolen vehicle after e-bike rider was struck in hit-and-run

The Owen Sound Police Service is looking for the driver of a stolen car that struck the rider of an e-bike.

On June 1st at 1:33 a.m., a 32-year-old Wiarton resident was in the process of stealing a vehicle at a downtown Owen Sound convenience store. The accused was confronted by the owner of the vehicle, but the thief was able to drive off. In the process of leaving the convenience store lot on to 10th Street East the driver struck an e-bike being operated by a 39-year-old Owen Sound resident. The e-bike operator received serious, non-life threatening injuries that required surgery.

Police are now seeking the 32-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle. If you have any information contact the Owen Sound Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
