Over 100,000 vaccines administered in Grey, Bruce

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is marking a major milestone in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

The team surpassed the 100,000 milestone in administering COVID-19 vaccine to residents in Grey Bruce, with 102, 898 doses in arms as of June 3, 2021.

Over-all, 64 per cent of residents of Grey Bruce age 12 and older are benefiting from the protection of the vaccine after receiving their first dose.

Of those, 7.1 per cent have also received their second dose.

“It is no small feat to administer vaccines at the rates they have been embraced by the people of Grey and Bruce Counties.” said Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra. ”The targeted clinics, and in particular the Hockey Hub model, are examples of how the Grey Bruce Health Unit gets the vaccine to the community as it strives to be the Centre of Excellence for Rural Public Health.”
