Outbreak declared at rooming house in Hanover

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working to contain a COVID-19 outbreak at a rooming house in Hanover.

In a release Thursday night, the health unit says anyone that stayed at the Forum on 10th Street since May 26th is considered a high-risk contact. Those people are asked to self-isolate for 14 days from the last day they were at the Forum.

They should also contact the local assessment centre for testing. Even if their test comes back negative, they should continue to self-isolate.

Public Health officials say they are working on providing testing, vaccination, and alternate housing for those affected. That includes basic necessities like food and supplies to prevent drug and alcohol withdrawal.

They are also working with police to provide security.
