Clinton's main street construction well underway

Construction on the main street in Clinton is now underway and Albert Street will be closed for the rest of the summer.

Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith says they have gone to great lenghts to minimize inconvenience.

She says they have signage in place all over the entrances to town directing people to access to stores and that will evolve as the construction moves forward.

They have also opened up the alleys behind the stores on each side of the main street and those are decorated.

“We have named it the Back Alley Artists Extravaganza and it features art work from local residents that have created some fantastic pieces. We are close to 150 pieces and I am expecting more,” said Smith. “The alley on the east side of Albert Street, behind the east side stores, is quite large and there's plenty of parking available and we have a small picnic area set up, but you can drive through if you need to stay in your car to view it.”

Smith says they have a lot going on in Clinton's downtown area and lots of prizes to give out.
