Kincardine fills vacant seat

Kincardine has filled a vacant council seat.

Andrea Clarke has been appointed by council to represent Ward 1.

She was one of two candidates that went through the declaration process that started May 10. Both candidates addressed council at the meeting and council voted in an open public vote.

The Ward 1 seat was declared vacant on April 26, after Gerry Glover was appointed Mayor due to the earlier resignation of Anne Eadie.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
