Group working on 'attraction plan' for Goderich airport

The pandemic has delayed some of the preparation for an investment attraction plan at the Goderich Airport.

But Goderich Mayor John Grace says they're getting back up to speed and the consultant and the task force members are working on attraction models.

“The consultant and the task force members are working on attraction models right now, so we're reaching out to potential users and investors and we've had more interest in the Goderich Airport in the last four months than we've had in the last thirty years,” said Grace.

“Flight schools are very attractive as a business and they need flight schools in rural Ontario. So we look forward to working very progressively and aggressively as we look to not only maintain the airport, but to grow it.”

Grace says it's still going to take some time, but the ultimate goal is long term sustainability.
