Fanshawe to offer local business program

Fanshawe College is offering a new Business Fundamentals program in Goderich in September.

Student Engagement Representative, Kim Reid, says it's an Ontario College Certificate program.

“Students can complete the certificate in two semesters, so it'll start in September and then second semester will be in January and students can actually, if they choose to carry on, use this program to ladder into a business diploma program.”

She adds that program will also be offered at Fanshawe's main campus in London.

Reid says as a stand-alone program it's an excellent opportunity.

“It introduces you to customer service, information management, there is a bit of business math and principles of accounting and it also touches on a bit of marketing and then written communications for business as well.”

Reid says, at this point, it will be a virtual program run from the Goderich location and it's set up to run three days a week from nine till four and those are full-time hours, which makes the program OSAP eligible.

More information is available online. Or, you can contact Kim Reid at kareid@fanshawec.ca and students can apply on the Ontario Colleges web site.
