Just ten new cases of COVID-19 in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added six new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, after several days of double digit increases. Four of the new cases are in Saugeen Shores, one in Owen Sound and one in Southgate. There are 138 active cases, including 30 active variants of concern. Eight residents are hospitalized with the virus in Grey Bruce, and another two COVID-19 patients had to be transferred outside of the region for hospital care. There have been eight fatalities of Grey Bruce residents due to the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health added just one new case of COVID-19 Tuesday, in Stratford. There are nine active cases, of which one is a variant of concern. One person is hospitalized with the virus. 57 Huron Perth residents have passed away with the virus during the pandemic.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported two residents are hospitalized with COVID-19. Public health added six new cases Tuesday, three of them in Wellington. There are 15 active cases in Wellington. 41 Wellington County residents who had COVID-19 have died during the pandemic.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
