Cyclist airlifted to hospital after collision near Grand Bend

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a crash that took place over the weekend north of Grand Bend on Bluewater Veteran's Highway.

On July 30, 2021 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Huron OPP officers along with Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located on Highway 21 (Bluewater Veteran's Highway) near Schadeview Road.

Upon arrival first responders located a cyclist allegedly struck by a motorcycle that was travelling northbound on Bluewater Veteran's Highway.

The cyclist, a 41-year-old, from Bluewater was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries. The injured cyclist remains in hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was not injured.

The investigating is ongoing and police would like to speak with any possible witnesses.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
