UPDATE: Police on-scene at fatal crash

**Updated as of 9:01 a.m. August 7th, 2021**

Huron County OPP and local emergency crews are on-scene at what is now being called a fatal crash near Blyth, north of Walton, that has closed a roadway.

The OPP confirmed on Twitter at 7:37 a.m. this morning that a collision closed Blyth Road between Clyde Line and Division Line. Police say that just after 7 a.m., they responded alongside Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department to a single vehicle crash, which police now confirm was fatal. Investigation determined an SUV was driving on Blyth Road when it left the roadway, entered the ditch and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames. The lone driver in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Blyth Road is now closed between Clyde Line and Brussels Line. Please avoid the area.

More details as they are made available.
