Clinton man charged with counselling to commit murder

Provincial police in Central Huron have laid charges against an elderly man from Clinton, after he allegedly threatened employees at a local business.

On July 30, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch launched an investigation into an incident that happened at a business in Central Huron. Investigators say they learned a male suspect allegedly threatened some employees at the business.

The next day on July 31 at around 2 a.m., OPP officers located and arrested the accused in Clinton without incident.

A 73-year-old man is charged with uttering threats to cause death and counselling to commit murder.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 13.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
