Vehicle fire leads to charges

A vehicle fire reported on Saugeen First Nation led to a charge of identity fraud.

OPP from the Grey Bruce detachment responded to a call about a vehicle fire on Bruce Road 13  at 1:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police say firefighters extinguished the blaze and the occupants of the motor vehicle made arrangements to have it towed.

After further investigation, Grey Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop on the out of area tow truck, and arrested the driver of the vehicle being towed after it was discovered he had provided false identification.

A 34-year old man from Toronto faces charges including identity fraud and has a court date in Owen Sound on September 23.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
