Walkway across local dam reopens after renovations

Improvements to the Upper Dam in Durham have now been completed, meaning the walkway across the dam to the Durham Conservation Area has reopened.

Gates to the walkway have been closed for some time after safety deficiencies were pointed out by the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority.

The upgrades were part of a lengthy plan to improve the area around McGowan Falls, and also include the repair of fencing deficiencies, signage and walkway configuration that were completed earlier this summer.

The improvements were part of a review process undertaken by the Saugeen Conservation.
