Beach water at Southampton Beach now deemed safe

The Grey-Bruce Health Unit has now deemed water at the Southampton Beach safe.

Following water sampling done earlier this week which showed higher than safe contamination levels, recent samples taken from Southampton Beach on Friday showed "results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards." The beach water is now deemed safe for bathing.

However, the GBHU is reminding residents that "water conditions can change quickly. High winds and heavy rain are likely to have an adverse impact on water quality."
