OPP remind drivers to exercise caution during back to school season

Students will be returning to school this coming week, and the return of school buses and student pedestrians means the roads will be busier.

The South Bruce OPP is asking all drivers to be extra careful and observant for children on or near roadways, particularly near school zones.

The OPP is reminding drivers when approaching a stopped school bus, you must stop, or you could face strict penalties. First offence, the maximum fine is $2,000 and 6 demerit points.

Motorists that fail to stop for a school crossing guard stop sign face a fine of $365 and 4 demerit points upon conviction.
