UPDATE: Power restored for many

Updated 6:20 p.m.

Hydro One reports about 250 customers in  the Southampton area will have to wait until about about 9 p.m. Thursday to be reconnected.

Power has been restored in the Port Elgin area.

About 200 people without power in the Kingsbridge area should have it restored about 11 p.m. Thursday.

Westario Power says crews, along with assistance from third-party contractors, have restored power to all customers impacted by Tuesday’s storm.

The company says clean up work is being completed in many of the areas impacted by the storm and crews will respond to newly reported power outages and electrical emergencies if needed. And there could be some isolated outages if required to safely clear trees, brush or to repair broken poles and wires.

Westario Power says it received overwhelming support throughout the restoration and is extending gratitude for the support and patience.
