New housing planned for Dungannon

The Mayor of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh says they're excited about some homes that will be built in Dungannon next year.

Glen McNeil says the homes are being built by Sommers Brothers.

“They're going to start with two homes and I believe things would start in early 2022 and progress as rapidly as housing materials are available and we all know with COVID that the supply chains have been backed up,” said McNeil.

McNeil says the really exciting part is the homes will not only be affordable but will be passive housing.

“It will be affordable and it will also be what we would term passive housing from the stand point of very, very energy efficient and we look forward to that technology being built in our municipality and in Dungannon. These will be homes that will be tremendously efficient,” added McNeil.
