Light damage as thunderstorms rumble through

Despite hours long thunderstorms and tornado warnings for some areas last night, we are not seeing the widespread power outages we did after last week's severe weather.

The worst of the damage is in southern Bruce County where there are scattered outages reported including near Glammis, Cargill, and Elmwood. There are also outages in southern Grey County around Hanover.

Hydro One is estimating on its website it will have power restored by noon.

West Grey Police tweeted last night that they responded to a house struck by lightning on Highway 6 near Grey Road 12.

Highway 6 north of Rocky Saugeen Road was closed briefly last night for a downed tree but the road was cleared by the West Grey Fire Department.

There were eye witness reports of tree damage near Walkerton yesterday evening and scattered reports of minor tree damage in parts of Huron, Perth, and Wellington as well.

There are no road closures due to storm damage at this time.
