Minimal COVID cases in local schools

There are currently three cases of COVID-19 being monitored in three schools in the Avon-Maitland District School Board.

According to the Huron Perth Public Health website and the board's website, none of the cases have caused an outbreak, although two classes in two different schools are affected.

The Avon Maitland District School Board website lists the latest case in Central Perth Elementary in Sebringville, that case was confirmed Monday. There is also a case being monitored at Exeter Elementary and Listowel District Secondary.

There was also a case confirmed at St. Michael in Stratford earlier this month according to the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board website.

In Bruce and Grey, there have been no COVID cases in schools reported by public health at this time.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
