South Bruce Peninsula to rename street after local war veteran and humanitarian

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is renaming a street to honour a significant resident of the community.

In a release, the municipality says they will be officially renaming Claude Street in Wiarton to Arthur Haley Way in honour of Mr. Haley, who was a war veteran and local humanitarian.

The unveiling and ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 26th at 11:30 a.m., and Mayor Janice Jackson and other council members will be in attendance along with Arthur's family to commemorate the new street.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
