Centres for Employment and Learning mark 20 years serving Huron Perth

The Avon Maitland District School Board is celebrating its 20th year of managing the Centres for Employment and Learning (CELs) in Huron and Perth Counties

In 2001, The sites in Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Seaforth and Wingham began offering both learning and employment services, while the sites in Listowel and Stratford focused on learning services.

Before that, services and programs that supported adults in their learning and career goals were offered by a variety of organizations in different locations, which made it both confusing for clients and difficult for them to access what they needed. Free programs include Adult Education, Literacy and Basic Skills, English as a Second Language, and a wide range of employment services for both job seekers and employers.

These Employment Ontario services are funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
