COVID-19 cases increase in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added five new cases of COVID-19 Monday, three in West Grey and two in Arran-Elderslie. There are 15 active cases. Two residents remain in the hospital fighting the virus. Another resident has succumbed to the virus, with the death toll form the pandemic now at 23 lives.

Huron Perth Public Health added 23 cases of COVID-19 since Friday. Four in Perth East, four in Perth South, four in St Marys, three in Stratford, two in Central Huron, two in Huron East, two in West Perth, one in Howick, one in North Perth. There are 46 active cases, and two residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 35 new cases, including 21 in Wellington. There are 30 active cases in Wellington. Across Wellington Dufferin Guelph, seven residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
