New subdivision proposed in Owen Sound

The City of Owen Sound has received applications for a new subdivision on land in the Sydenham range. The proposal includes townhouses, apartments, walkways, parks, commercial zones.

The purpose of the applications is to facilitate the development of a Plan of Subdivision with approximately 830 dwelling units in a variety of residential types and tenues as well as three arterial commercial blocks.

The proposal includes the extension of 16th Ave E, 6th St E and 7th St E, the construction of several local roads, three park blocks, a storm water management system and the realignment of an existing drainage channel.

Future public meetings will be planned on the proposal.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
