High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added no new cases of COVID-19 Thursday. There are three residents hospitalized with the virus, and 22 active cases.
Huron Perth Public Health added ten new cases Thursday. there are 33 active cases and no local hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported five residents hospitalized with the novel coronavirus Thursday. Five new cases were added in Wellington county , where there are 20 active cases.
Ontario health officials added 417 new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Thursday.
