New program to focus on funding for community initiatives

The Perth Huron United Way will start accepting applications for its New Initiative Program.

Director of Governance and Community Impact Megan Partridge says they're looking for organizations that are aware of local issues and how they can best be addressed.

“Well established charities, registered not-for-profit or qualified donees per CRA. But I always say if an organization thinks they aren't eligible, give me a call cause there's other ways of partnering with organizations that are registered or other things we can look at,” said Partridge.

But they also want to encourage new approaches.

"So it could be a new program that an organization wants to test, a pilot of a program, expanding on existing programming or something that's come up as an emerging need,” added Partridge.

Partridge can be reached at 519-271-7730 ext. 225 and more information about the New Initiative program can be found on the Perth Huron United Way website.
