Police investigating sudden death in Northern Bruce Peninsula

The Grey-Bruce OPP are investigating a sudden death that occurred in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

On October 20th at 4:15 p.m., officers alongside Bruce County EMS, the Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre responded to a call for an injured person near Cyprus Lake Road in Northern Bruce Peninsula. One individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another individual was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The deceased individual's name is being held pending notification of next of kin.

Police say further updates will soon be made available. Grey-Bruce OPP is thanking the witnesses at the scene who performed life-saving measures until emergency crews arrived.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
