New COVID-19 cases reported in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health unit added three new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, two in Arran-Elderslie, and one in Kincardine. There are 33 active cases. Three residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health added three new cases, all located in Perth East. There are 28 active cases. 

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added no new cases Tuesday. There are 14 active cases in Wellington. One resident is currently hospitalized with the virus.

Ontario is reporting 331 new cases of COVID-19, 195 of them in people who are not fully vaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown. The province is also reporting seven more deaths from the virus. Provincial data show 136 people are in intensive care due to COVID, including 84 people on ventilators. The province says 88 per of Ontario residents aged 12 and older have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 84 per cent have received both shots.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
