Grey County has awarded a prime consultant services contract as part of the redevelopment of the Rockwood Terrance Long Term Care Home in Durham.

At it's regular meeting Friday morning, council awarded the contract, worth $2,504,530, to Kasian Architecture Ontario Inc.

According to County CAO Kim Wingrove, the contract will see Kasian provide a long list of services, but not limited to things like "An architect, as well as landscaping. A functional programmer, building code consultant, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, structural engineer, certified cost consultant to confirm the pricing for the project, specialist in furniture, fixtures and equipment, exterior and interior signage, interior design consultant, elevator consultant, kitchen consultant, laundry consultant, a commissioning agent when we are ready to be looking at making the building operational for our residents, a hardware consultant, and any other consultants as deemed necessary by the architect".

A slide at the task force's meeting last week said under the current plan, they expect shovels in the ground in the summer of 2023.
