Blue Mountains Deputy Mayor Rob Potter passes away

The Deputy Mayor for the Town of Blue Mountains has passed away.

Rob Potter passed peacefully on Sunday afternoon (November 14th) with his wife and family by his side.

Potter was elected as councillor in 2018, and appointed Deputy Mayor in January of 2020.

In a statement, Blue Mountains Mayor Alar Soever says Potter was a valued member of council, and a true community leader, and that his presence will be missed throughout the community by friends, family and residents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
