Perth County OPP to hold auxiliary food drive

Perth County OPP has partnered with the Salvation Army to help those in need this holiday season.

Two auxiliary food drives will be held by the police alongside the Salvation Army in Perth County, one later this month and the other in early December. The first will be Saturday, November 27th, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Walkom's Valu-Mart in Mitchell. The second food drive will be on Saturday, December 4th, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Zehr's in Listowel.

Anyone interested in donation can purchase a pre-bagged donation or you can choose your own items to donate. All donations will be gratefully accepted, however the most needed items include baby food, canned fruit and vegetables, lunch snacks, crackers, oatmeal, condiments, toothpaste, and shampoo.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
