Stolen items returned to five Owen Sound stores

Two women face charges after Owen Sound Police were called about a theft from a store.

An employee from an eastside business in the city called police after two suspects were observed leaving the store with some items, then entered another business.

Police arrived and arrested two women in a parking lot.

Investigators found $2,500 worth items in a vehicle, which were returned to five area businesses.

A 49-year old woman and her 28-year old daughter, both from Durham, are charged with five counts each of theft under $5,000 dollars and possession of property obtained by crime.

The allegations have yet to be proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
