Premier announces new health centre funding in Dundalk

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill and Premier Doug Ford stopped in Dundalk this week to announce the government is investing $275,000 to support the planning of South East Grey Community Health Centre’s (SEGCHC) new Dundalk Community Health Centre. The grant will help the new community health centre project move ahead.

“We are helping communities meet their unique health care needs,” said Premier Ford. “Our government isn’t waiting. We’re getting shovels in the ground.”

The proposal would see a new 14,000 – 15,000 square foot clinic built in Dundalk. The clinic is planned to provide primary care, mental health, social and home care services. Last year, the project received a $1 million donation from FLATO Developments.

“This is great news for our community. I’m thrilled the Premier took the time to personally deliver this exciting news,” said Walker. “I’m looking forward to this project taking the next steps, and the positive impacts this new facility will have on the healthcare of the people we serve in Southgate and the surrounding area.”

Prior to the official announcement, Premier Ford toured the current health clinic and met with staff of the facility. Later, he was joined by officials from the Township of Southgate, SEGCHC, FLATO and community members to see the site of the new clinic.
