COVID-19 outbreak declared at a Grey County school

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with the Bluewater District School Board to address an outbreak of COVID-19 associated within Holland Chatsworth Central School, in Holland Centre.

An outbreak is declared when there is evidence of transmission from person to person within the school environment.

Two confirmed cases are identified with this outbreak.

The individuals with COVID-19 have been contacted directly by the COVID-19 Case and Contact Management Team. All others, both in and out of the school environment, who may have been exposed have been identified and have determined their risk level. Public Health will contact you if you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, based on a thorough risk assessment.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says this outbreak highlights the need to ensure that all eligible individuals get the COVID-19 vaccine.
